How to Apply for a Saskatchewan Health Card

What is the Saskatchewan Health Card?

The Saskatchewan Health Card is a document that residents must have to receive health benefits in Saskatchewan. All residents must register themselves and their dependents for a health card. Present the card whenever you need health services.

This service is managed by eHealth Saskatchewan.

How to Apply

There are three ways to apply:

Online: Through your Saskatchewan Account. This is recommended because online applications have shorter processing times than paper submissions.
By mail or courier: If you cannot apply online, send a paper application.
In person: At the front desk in Regina at 1901 Scarth St., Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (excluding holidays).

Steps for Online Application

If you don't have a Saskatchewan Account, click the 'Apply Online' button and select 'Create Account'.
If you have an account but haven't added the health card service, log in and link the Health Card under 'My Services'.
If you have added the service, log in, select the health card service, click 'Next' in the 'Apply for a Saskatchewan Health Services Card' section, and select 'New Application'.
If you need to add documents to an existing application, log in, select 'View My Application Status', and choose 'Add Documents'.

Required Documents

The official page does not list specific documents. Follow the prompts in the application system.

Update or Replace a Health Card

If your card is lost, damaged, or your information changes, select 'Update or Replace a Health Card' from the menu.

Address Update

If you move, update your address to receive renewal stickers. 2026 is a renewal year; stickers will be mailed starting September 2026 and are valid until December 31, 2029.

Notes

Present your health card whenever you need health services.
The Health Registries phone system may have technical issues; use online services when possible.
Organ donation: The Organ and Tissue Donor Registry has replaced stickers and cards. Register online and discuss your wishes with family. In Saskatchewan, organs and tissues will not be donated without family consent.
